Unabridged Birth Certificate – Get yours even if you are not travelling

In order to prevent trafficked or kidnapped children from entering or leaving our borders, the South African Ministry of Home Affairs requires that all minor children under the age of 18, irrespective of their nationality, travelling in and out of South Africa are required to present to immigration offices the following documents:

• A valid passport
• The necessary visas if required as well as
• An unabridged birth certificate

These documents are required for each child
