In an effort to stamp out child trafficking, the South African Department of Home Affairs has since the 1st of October 2014 made it compulsory for parents travelling with minor children (under the age of 18) to be in possession of an unabridged birth certificate. The requirement applies to all travellers i.e. both local and foreign passport holders entering or leaving South African borders. It has also become compulsory for all parents to be in possession of unabridged birth certificates for their minor children, even if they have no plans to travel abroad.
Unabridged birth certificates are more secure, reflecting the details of both parents including their South African Identification numbers.
To beat the queues, simply fill out the form and a friendly Q-Pro consultant will contact you to finalise the details.
